Muscular Pain Relief for Sore Muscles
Natural muscular pain relief for sore muscles...We’ve all done it, haven’t we? Lived a sedentary life all week, perhaps chained to the desk, or the office, then really go for the burn at the gym, in the park or on the sport’s field. It is hardly surprising, then, is it, that this can quite often lead to sore muscles, either while exercising, or certainly afterwards. Who hasn’t woken up, the day after, feeling dreadful (and no alcohol involved!) - stiff and aching and can barely move…. Don’t worry, as this is very common, but doesn’t need to happen every time… Natural muscular pain relief remedies can really help… Always remember to consult your healthcare provider before taking any decisions regarding your health. Sore muscles while exercising- Your muscles might suddenly feel stiff, tired and painful while exercising.
- This means, basically, that you are over doing it!
- (Sudden pain may mean a sprain or strained muscle.)
- The basic cause of most muscle pain while exercising is dehydration - you know you should keep your fluid levels up, before, during and after any training or exercise.
- The ‘fuels’ (or ‘food’) which allow the muscles to work, can become depleted, making your muscles feel weak.
- You might also have a build up of lactic acid in your muscles. This is a waste product, produced when muscles exert themselves. If it is not taken away by the body, from the site of the muscles, immediately, the lactic acid can start to build up. As it is a waste product, it is toxic to the body, and can cause pain.
- As well as upping your intake of fluids while exercising, or even using a specialist sport’s drink for more effective rehydration, you can eat some fruit half and hour before exercising - bananas are especially recommended.
- It sounds obvious, but I think too many people believe in the ‘no pain, no gain’ fallacy. When it hurts, stop, and rest – don’t continue, or you risk doing yourself further damage.

- If you suffer from sore muscles while exercising, you will almost certainly get sore muscles after exercising…
- Find out which muscular pain relief treatments can help soothe the aches and pains…
Sore muscles after exercising- Once again, this is caused by overdoing it. This causes:
- A build up of the waste product, lactic acid, around the muscles and joints
- tiny tears in the muscle tissue
- free radicals – unstable molecules, causing muscle damage
- swollen muscles, due to an increase in blood flow to the muscle
- For muscular pain relief, the day after, try not to rely on conventional painkillers. These do kill the pain, but unfortunately this can mean that you are tempted to get out and about, using the muscles too much, when you should, in fact, be resting up. This could actually cause more damage, and mean that your aches and pains take longer to heal.
- Resting is good for muscular pain relief.
- Also try:
- Soaking in a hot bath
- Massage
- Gentle stretching
- Hot compresses
- A massage with essential oils:
- Use 20ml of almond oil or olive oil, and up to 7-8 drops of the following essential oils:
- lavender
- eucalyptus
- rosemary
