My brother has had asthma since he was 2. It began after he had Whooping Cough. But, as we both have allergies and eczema, it is likely that there is some genetic likelihood there…

My brother has been very poorly with his asthma, so I actually feel I have got off quite lightly compared with him…

Steam Inhalations

  • Steam inhalations can be a bit of a dodgy area as a natural remedy for asthma.
  • It depends on your own reaction entirely, as to whether steam inhalations make you feel much better or much worse!
  • It is a good idea to try inhaling a little plain steam first, at a time when you are feeling fairly healthy.
  • Don’t try a steam inhalation for the first time when hoping to relieve an asthma attack!
  • If you get on OK with plain steam, try adding a few drops of rosemary essential oil to a bowl of water.
  • Bend your head over the bowl, and cover it with a towel. Inhale the steam through your mouth.
  • Stay cautious and stop if it triggers any coughing or wheezing at all.
