    • Steep for 10 minutes

Sage Tea

  • Sage is another very cooling natural remedy for menopause.
  • This is especially good at preventing those disruptive night sweats that interrupt your sleep.
  • Drink cups of sage tea throughout the day:

    • Use 1 – 2 teaspoons of sage leaves, in a cupful of hot water
    • Steep for 5-10 minutes
    • Strain and drink
  • Sage also makes a lovely wine - medicinal drinking only please…! :o)

Marigold Tea (Calendula)

  • Another lovely cooling and soothing remedy for hot flashes.

    • Use 1 teaspoon of dried marigold flowers in a cupful of hot water
    • Steep for 10 minutes
    • Strain and drink up to 4 cups per day

Lemon Balm Tea

  • This is a great tea to get rid of those annoying night sweats. It will relax you, and help you to sleep better too.
  • Place a few, fresh lemon balm leaves under your pillow.
  • Or, make a tea:
    • 1 teaspoon of dried leaves in a cupful of hot water
    • Steep for 10 minutes
    • Strain and drink a cup before bedtime
  • I use this tea as a natural sleep remedy all the time, and find it so soothing and relaxing. I even grow my own lemon balm in my garden, so have my own supply.
  • Don’t worry, as you can buy lemon balm tea bags too.

Menopause Tea

  • This blend makes an excellent, really effective tea, to help with hot flashes.
  • Make a dry tea mix, with equal amounts of dried:
    • borage
    • lemon balm
    • raspberry leaf
    • burdock root
    • plantain
    • Use 1 teaspoon of the herbal tea mix in a cupful of hot water
    • Steep for 10 minutes
    • Strain and drink throughout the day

Tonic Wine

  • Sage makes a wonderfully effective tonic wine, for soothing menopause symptoms … One of the most fun natural remedies for hot flashes … medicinal drinking only please…! ;o)
    1. Gather some fresh sage leaves
    2. Place them inside a bottle of good quality white wine.
    3. Stand in a cool dark place for 2 weeks
    4. Then, add a spoonful of honey, and allow to stand for 1 further week
    5. After this final week, strain the liquid and bottle

  • Drink a glass of this tonic wine before dinner in the evening … and enjoy this wine that does you good - a fantastic excuse if ever I heard one…! :o)

Essential Oils

  • Aromatherapy essential oils can be some of the most effective natural remedies for hot flashes and night sweats.
  • Use the essential oils:
    • in baths - use 5-10 drops (total) of between 2 and 5 different essential oils, in 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil (olive or almond) added to the bath
    • in massage oils - use as a 2 & 1/2 % mixture
  • Try the following essential oils:
    • camomile
    • lavender
    • geranium
    • rose
    • ylang ylang
    • neroli
    • petitgrain
    • jasmine
    • clary sage
    • sandalwood
  • Many of these are also the most seductive and aphrodisiac of the essential oils – so don’t worry, you’ll smell gorgeous too!
  • A relaxing and soothing bath before bedtime will really help hot flashes and night sweats, due to hormonal menopause problems.

  • Try keeping a small bottle of this cooling facial mist spray in your handbag.

    • Add 8 drops of lavender essential oil to 100 ml of rose water.
